I am extremely happy now.. I don't normally write reviews, Mainly because there is barely any games lately worth writing a review from. BUT THIS GAME, GUYS! It hit all the points of RPG mixed with RTS and they gave us an amazing story and the ability to make our character. Granted there isn't many customization options but still creating a character was what was missing from the first one as well as how easy it is to buy the schematics for all the races. It's beautiful to be able to get them all from a merchant rather than having to scour every little piece of each level to ensure you find each one and to have some you didn't have pop up at the very end of the game like in SP3 that you couldn't even use. Picking two classes to have to level together is just as amazing as well. This game i hope has some more story and features added on to it cause it's absolutely wonderful. I've been a spellforce fan for a very long time and was kind of sad about SP3 but they def had a major come back with this one. Is there a few bugs? Yes. but nothing that they won't fix i'm sure. Plus they added modding options which is great too. They did everything right with this game! I've boasted about it on every channel of social media i have because it's so wonderful.The current cons to this game is that some of the quest rewards aren't really worth it. Customization doesn't have many options. It would be nice to have some battlemage armors that don't make you look like a brick and give me some amazing wands that look as cool as the wintermage one! lol. It's just a great game and so worth the buy.To the company THANK YOU so much for the loyalty price. I can't thank you enough for that. I felt ripped off with SP3 but you def made a come back!. Absolutely worth a buy! I did not like the main game and gave up on it after playing the beta.But hell, the guys behind this luckily didn't act like me and improved it a lot. Now you will get a decent RTS game with RPG elements. Really enjoyed playing and trying out new skills and mechanics.You even got a hero editor, for creating individual avatars to join your friends coop campaign e.g.First of all: I played just skirmish, cuz I think about buying the main game as well once it is "ported" to this version - we got a placedholder in the main menu, which makes me think this will happen...But over all, these are the things you will get for your money: Campaign and Skirmish modes PVP supports 2-6 factions all coop-supported - you can join your friend by the above mentioned hero mechanism or by controlling individual parts of the faction, e.g. the army 5 different factions tutorials, which are textual and video-capture-based full customizeable controls (not a lot of games offer things like this) an amazing quick-access-circle menu for building, recruitement and skills. Absolutely love this UI enchancement and want it in other RTSs as well! great visual and sounds. Textures, animation and effects. All absolutely let you dive into a fantasy worldThe only cons I had were: The menues are a lil bit bulky by default. The ingame UI isn't that bad, once you know the hotkeys for quick accessing functions. But the menues like map selection are missing features like context-sensitive traversing. amount of maps for skirmish; 10 only, hope there will be moreHope the negative elements will be fixed soon. Cuz this game absolutely changed to the better since I played the beta!. Pretty good, much fewer bugs on launch than expected, and your heroes dont become that much demigods by the end. The UI for hero abilities have been overhauled which is a little jarring to begin with.The skill trees have likewise been overhauled and have more depth.The druid skill tree actually have an viable option for feral druids.The team clearly had time to finish the end of the game, and there are no significant level design quality drop towards the end.The main character personal mystery did not grab me, felt weird, forced and out of character.Not enough true dragons( dragons that matter for the plot or have an agenda).Fewer interesting characters than spellforce 3.. Pros: + Everything works nice and smooth right out of the box. Feels like developers were not in race against da clock and just did their job well+Easier gameplay in RTS part, no more logistics issues+ Awesome soundtrack. It feels like The Breath of Winter nostalgia Cons:- Too much simplification in rpg\/rts. I used to love caravan-robbing and outpost raiding in vanilla sf3. Now I miss it. What an incredibly pleasant surprise. I never expected an expansion, I never expected it to be priced so low, and I never expected to be given a deal just for having Spellforce 3. This has to be the most interesting and fun RTS that not nearly enough people play.. After finishing the main SpellForce 3 campaign earlier in the month, I was SUPER stoked to hear that this expansion was coming out.After playing for a few hours, I can say that this is continuing on with the fun factor and the amazing lore\/story line. The new UI takes a little bit to get used too, but once you figure it out it's a breeze.Strong work to the devs, I LOVE these games!
